Villa Ammende – Pärnu (Estonia) en

Summary

Villa Ammende is a superb Art Deco villa dating back to 1905 which was completely renovated at the end of the 90’s. It’s now a luxury hotel and a café/restaurant, but you’re allowed to go check it out. During the summers, all kinds of concerts of many styles are organized in the garden.

It was built by Hermann Leopold Ammende who was one of Pärnu’s richest German merchants. He was looking for the perfect place for his daughter’s mariage, and since he couldn’t find it, he decided to get this villa (drawn up by Russian architects from St. Petersburg) built.

The villa was also used as a summer home.

The main building is a perfect example of the Russian Art Nouveau style from the early 20th century.
