Pizzeria Piec Na Szewskiej – Wroclaw (Poland) en

Summary

Probably the best pizza place in Wroclaw, with Happy Little Truck of course: a real fire wood oven, the Polish chef learned her craft in Italy. It’s delicious.

The backstory

I was with a Polish group and their Italian colleague. When I told that Italian that I had a food blog, he asked if I’d tried this pizza place, because it was by far the best one in Wroclaw according to him. He pointed out that there were lots of pizza places run by Italians, and that none were as good as this Polish one. As a matter of fact, she had a wood oven while the Italian places only had electric ones.

I was curious, so we went directly there.

The venue

There’s a cute little patio, otherwise, inside get’s hot pretty fast, but it’s alright. Careful, the place fills up fast.

The team

In the Polish tradition, you have to get up to give your order, which is always a bit surprising, otherwise, the atmosphere is very relaxed.

My Margherita with ham blew it out of the park.

The verdict

Good spot! I’m not sure the service is always on par or that the pizzas are all equally good, but still, it’s excellent, and a bit outside of the big square, so it’s a bit quieter, even if it is hot with the heat of the oven.
