Królicze Oczy – Krakow (Poland) en

Summary

Out of the few bars I had a chance to check out during my stay, it was here that I clearly felt the most at home in, because of the relaxed atmosphere, there were too many other places that were rude, here, everything was simple.

So I stayed for a while, had several drinks while charging my Iphone, using the WiFi, chatting with the barmaid, moments that count when you’re spending your day walking around the city.

The backstory

I was strolling around Kazimierz looking for a nice spot, and I was having a hard time finding one, I walked in bars and came right out.

I walked by Królicze Oczy a few times, I decided to walk in when I saw a guy on the bench with his laptop, because he looked so comfortable sitting there, I thought to myself that this must be a good coffee shop to chill in.

The venue

Królicze Oczy is located in the middle of Kazimierz, the Jewish quarter.

The decor is cozy, beware, the place isn’t big, it’s a long room. There’s a little courtyard at the back.

The team

The barmaid was nice, and when I mentioned it to her, she immediately told me she loved her job, because her boss was nice, and took care of his staff like a little family. I saw him come in after actually, and indeed, he didn’t look like the type to make problems arise from thin air.

The funny thing is that when I talked about it to my friends in Krakow, they didn’t know what place I was talking about, because they hadn’t been back there in years ; it’s not a place that “matters”, but as a tourist, I found it had a lot of qualities.

The meal

First, I ordered a cocktail which was a bit too sweet

So I followed the barmaid’s advice for the rest (to tone down the sweetness) and I got to enjoy the fact that they had Dobroński cider on tap, which is very good.
