Gabi – Vilnius (Lithuania) en

Summary
The venue
There’s a dining room inside, but it’s the large courtyard outside that is worth it, it’s a nice and quiet spot except when large groups of tourists come in ( the waiter himself told us that there were often Polish groups that came in, and serving 40 people complicated things, and the tranquility of the place took a hit. )
But for us at that moment, it was nice.
The team
Pretty good, but when we come here, it’s not for the service. Everything went well, they gave us good advice, but at the end of the meal, they completely disappeared, and we still wanted to order a coffee: instead of serving us, the waiter preferred to take care of a group of 30. The result: we waited 15 minutes, and then we went to cancel our coffee and pay. This didn’t ruin the pleasant experience though since I still wanted to write this review, just be aware that if a group comes in, it might complicate things.
The meal
For the 14 Litas menu, you got appetizer-main and a drink.
We got two Kvas to start, a fermented drink made from barley or rye flour, it’s fizzy and has a small alcohol content ( between 2 and 4 %), and it’s very refreshing.
Appetizer
Soup of the day
Main
Pork with potatoes and vegetables.
The meat was delicious, as was the sauce. I was overall very impressed with the quality of the pork I ate during my stay.
Dessert
I tried the varškės apkepas, a type of cheesecake, also delicious. In Lithuania, you can eat for dessert or as a main, even though it is slightly sweet.
The verdict
By adding dessert, two Kvas, a bottle of Vichy, the bill was 36 litas, so 14 euros.
