Summary
I had noticed it when I came to eat at the Bistrot d’Indochine. This traiteur had made me a good impression. Then I found only one but good comment on each of these three websites : Food Reporter, Yelp et l’Internaute.
I confirm the serious of this place and the utility to know this traiteur located a few meters from the tramway stop and from the Georges Brassens Park. You’re chilling in the park with your kids, wanna have a quick lunch or just grab a sandwich and keep playing in the park, Marwa can save you.
The venue
It’s a small place but it feels good inside. The proof is that we came here around 9PM a tuesday night and finally decided to stay here to have a proper dinner (it also does take away).
There is a couple of tables outside so you can enjoy during sunny days.
The choice is large and almost all the dishes have the mention « home made », which is not so frequent in Paris.
While we were eating two young guys came to take sandwiches, an older one also came. They looked like regular customers totally trustful about the place.
The team
The boss is friendly and concerned by his place. Around 10PM, a young man came and went into the kitchen to work. Here people are hard workers and u can see it. Here there are no salesmen without any food soul waiting to sell some meals delivered by a company.
The meal
With this large yummy menu it was hard to make a choice. I was about to take the mezze plate for 2 (20 euros) but the boss finally recommended us the Marwa dish which costs around 12 euros : taboulé, feta, tarama, hommos, moutabbal, rice, chicken, beef, eggplant.
It’s good, I would have liked more cold mezze and less rice and hot meat. I said it to the boss and he told me that no worries for next time. Without being stunned by the dinner, it is very decent, some home made food, not fat at all, people love food here, u can feel it.
A Lebanese beer, you dont see this one everywhere in Paris.
The verdict
Excellent address to know in the disctrict. If all the maréchaux (the external boulevards of Paris) had such good traiteurs all around, we would know it.
It is a good alternative to the other traiteur I like a lot in the area l’Hirondelle, located on the other side of the park.
