Bled (Slovenia)

Summary

Bled is the most touristic city in Slovenia after Ljubjana. It seems that in the last few years, the city has lost some of its cultural diversity; many young people confided that 15 years ago there were a lot more artistic festivals, concerts that brought in a lot of people from everywhere. There was the touristic Bled, but it didn’t prevent young people to make it their own either.

I went through it too fast too really make my mind up about it. I did however, enjoy the warmth of the welcome, and the tourism office’s touristic offer which was very well done; I enjoyed my meal at the Triglav Hotel (not cheap) and the view over the lake is immutable jewel.

In the middle of the lake, a church on a little island. The story is that there used to be pagan rituals here, and the Catholics tried to impose their laws  by putting a church right in the middle of it.

A restaurant that shouldn’t be missed out on, for the setting and the wines first, the food is also good, but doesn’t always hit the spot.
