Boulangerie – Liepaja
Summary
It’s a trendy spot, my local guide thought it was a bit too international hipster, for my part, I had a good breakfast for 7 euros, and it filled me up, but it’s true that it’s not cheap considering the Latvian standard of living.
It’s also a real phenomenon, because the place is now known throughout Latvia. Some tourists come to Liepaja and ask right away for it. Opinions are divided: on one end the locals love it, it’s the place that was always at the top of the list when I asked for recommendations, and on the other end, the others thought it was too “fashion” and “international”.
The place is famous for its French pastries, but the team isn’t French.
The backstory
The place is such a success in Latvia that it’s known throughout the entire country and is even considered as a must for tourists that come to Liepaja.

It’s cozy and well decorated.

The staff is young and pretty cool too, some were more more awake than others that day.
The meal
I went there for brunch one Sunday, it was delicious. For 7 euros, all you can eat brunch, and what a buffet; cheeses and homemade bread are delicious, the ingredients are picked with care and the breads are homemade. Drinks are extra.
It’s true that when I was there, half of the clients were tourists, foreigners or Latvian.
Everyone will have their own opinion, it is delicious though!, it would be unfortunate to miss out on it.
And the crêpe is good!
The verdict
A good place to go for brunch or for a snack. Don’t hesitate to try their pastries, their known for them.
They’re going to move to a bigger place, so we’ll have to keep an eye on it.
